  • Job Title: Occupational Health Technicians 

  • Vacancy type: Locum, with ongoing agency shifts available

  • Location: Nationwide 

  • Pay rates: Competitive pay rates (to be negotiated based on experience) 

Responsibilities

As an Occupational Health Technician, you will: 

  • Conduct workplace health screenings, including spirometry (lung function testing), audiometry (hearing tests), and vision screening. 

  • Support Occupational Health Practitioners in implementing health and safety programs. 

  • Record and report test results accurately, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection laws. 

  • Educate employees on workplace health and safety practices. 

  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). 

  • Calibrate and maintain health screening equipment. 

  • Travel to client sites for on-site screenings as required. 

Requirements

To excel in this role, you will need: 

  • A relevant qualification in Occupational Health or a related field. 

  • Certification in spirometry and audiometry (SASOHN-accredited or equivalent). 

  • Experience in conducting occupational health screenings. 

  • Knowledge of South African health and safety regulations. 

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills. 

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites. 

  • Professional registration with relevant regulatory bodies is advantageous.
