These manageable monthly contributions can be deducted as you go, instead of having to pay the full fee over the Festive Season.

Nurses and midwives need an annual practicing certificate (APC) from the South African Nursing Council (SANC) to practice in South Africa. The registration fee for SANC must be paid by 31 December.
Who needs to pay?
In order to be booked for shifts, you need to submit your renewed SANC certificate in time.

What are the SANC fees for 2025?
Standard Yearly Charges
The following table lists the various practitioner types' annual fees for the year 2025.
Annual fee reductions for those over 60 years old
According to the table below, the council decided to lower costs for nurses who are 60 years of age or older.
On January 1, 2025, 60 to 64 years of age (a 25% reduction)
Those who turn 65 on January 31, 2025, and beyond (50 percent reduction)
Practitioners may be asked to provide a certified copy of their identity certificate as proof of age in order to be eligible for the discount amounts.
Notes
The SANC must collect the 2025 annual fees by December 31, 2024, at the latest.
All of the amounts shown in the above tables include 15% VAT.
The sums are calculated to the closest R10
